Phonetic Changes Of Arabic And Persian Words In Kazakh Turkish Language


Kazakh nation is one of the Turkish nations who have inhabited Turkistan geography. They have been moved from nomadic life to settled life in the 19th century. Since they moved to settled life so late, they were able to maintain their self-worth especially their language. Kazakh Turkish vocabulary is usually consist of Kazakh own words. In addition, there are some words taken from other nations basically from Arabic, Persian and Russian. Kazak Turkish is considered the least affected language from Arabic and Persian languages since its’ political-sociological and geographical position. There is no direct effect of Arabic and Persian languages on Kazak Turkish. Kazak language is receipt words from Arabic and Persian over Uzbek Turkish. Arabic and Persian words in Kazakh Turkish vocabulary, their passage and changes on words during that period are mainly our topic to be considerate in this article. While Kazakh language has been taken words from Arabic language via Islam, they has affected from Persian language since political, commercial and geographical location. In this study, it has been focused to the words taken from Arabic and Persian languages, how they have been used in daily life and how they moved into Kazakh language and their changes during that period of time. Taken words have been used after changes in the phonetic structure of words. We will be also focusing the reason of using words from Arabic and Persian languages, and also the reason of the changes in those words. While researching, quoted words are ordered according to Arabic alphabet. Moreover, the words in Kazakh language taken from Arabic and Persian language have been submitted with different phonemes. Therefore, the formation of different phonetic shape has been caused. In our study these points and examples will be given.
