Polisiye roman, Türk edebiyatı için yeni bir türdür. Henüz Türk edebiyatında hak ettiği yeri almamış olan polisiye roman, özellikle 1980 sonrası gelişir. 1990’lı yıllarda bir polisiye roman furyası başlar. Bu yıllardan itibaren polisiye roman biraz daha yakın durulduğu görülür. Polisiye türü; uyuşturucu, fuhuş, cinayet, insan ticareti gibi kriminal konular üzerine inşa edildiği için gelişme alanı da, bu tür ilişkilerin yoğun olarak görüldüğü metropol şehirlerdir. Metropolleşen, nüfusu gitgide kalabalıklaşan ve buna bağlı olarak kriminal vaka sayısında artış yaşayan İstanbul, Türk polisiyesi için uygun bir mekândır. Buna rağmen bu türün Türk edebiyatında hak ettiği yeri aldığını söylemek henüz mümkün değildir. Bu durum, Türk toplum yapısından kaynaklanır. Fuhuş, uyuşturucu, cinayet, kaçakçılık, insan ticareti gibi kriminal unsurlar, polisiye romanında sıkça işlenen konulardır. Bu konular Türk toplumuna çok yakın değildir. Polisiye romanın Türk edebiyatında çok fazla yer almamış olmasında bu konuların Türk toplumuna uzak oluşunun da rolü vardır. Son dönemlerde polisiyeye bir yöneliş başlasa da bu çok yeterli bir teşebbüs değildir. Polisiye roman, henüz Türk edebiyatında gereken öneme sahip olamamıştır. Sis ve Gece romanı, Ahmet Ümit’in ilk polisiye romanıdır. Roman, yayımlandığı dönemde ilgiyle karşılanmıştır. Yunancaya da tercüme edilen roman, yabancı bir dile çevrilen ilk Türk romanı unvanını da kazanmıştır. Bu çalışmada Sis ve Gece romanı polisiye roman bağlamında ele alınarak değerlendirilmeye çalışılacaktır.

Thriller,is a new species for turkish literature.Yet It could not have got the place it deserves in Turkish literature thriller,especially develops after 1980.In 1990s a hype of thriller starts. From these years is seen to focus a little closer to the detective novel. Type of crime, drugs, prostitution, murder, human trafficking as criminal matters are built on the area of development, this type of relationship is seen as a dense metropolitan cities. The population more and more crowded and consequent increase in the number of criminal cases living in metropolitan Istanbul,It is a suitable place for the turkish police. Nevertheless, It is possible to say this species could not have got the place it deserves in Turkish literature yet. This situation stems from the structure of Turkish society. Prostitution, drugs, murder, smuggling, human trafficking as criminal elements, the subjects dealt with are often in thrillers. These issues are not very close to the Turkish society. Crime novels take place in Turkish literature have too many of these issues in the Turkish society. In recent years, begun an orientation to police that an undertaking is not very adequate. Thrillers, yet have not been considered important in Turkish literature. Sis ve Gece, Ahmet Ümit’s the first detective novel is. The novel had been concerned at the time of publication. The novel was translated in Greek, translated into a foreign language has gained the title of the first Turkish novel. In this study, Sis ve Gece novel will be evaluated by considering in the context of detective novels.
