It is obvious that the events which took place during the World War 1 have been being reckless because of the Armistice of Montrose. It’s a fact that Armenians came forth in some places in the occupations which started after signing the Armistice of Montrose. The events which were experienced during the resistance started all over the country support our statement. South side has the characteristic of being one of the areas in which these struggles have been experienced intensely. The strategic importance of Toros subways accelerated the occupations which started in the area. Ultimately, we see that the first occupations started in this area after the Armistice of Montrose. And again, the first resistance against the occupations occurred in Dörtyol. Dörtyol where the first bullet of the Independence War was fired in December 19, 1918 is obviously important for the struggle. Dörtyol was established as a district of Çokmermizen Village (meaning; the place having plenty of donkeys) where Armenians lived. Dörtyol is very important because of being a gate which opens to the Gulf of İskenderun from Anatolia. Actions perpetrated by the Armenians living in Çokmermizen (Dörtyol) and the conflicts which were experienced after these actions, and the precautions which the Ottoman Empire took against these actions are going to be explained in our study. There are studies about the subject; however there is not a study which explains the Armenians living in Çokmermizan directly, so our study will make a significant contribution to eliminate this lacking.},author={Fatih ÖZÇELİK},year={2013},journal={Journal of Turkish Studies}}
