Hilye is a compiled books, poetries and tables in order to describe the Prophet to people who lived after him and were unable to see him. The first hilye works have been formed as a part of hadith books. Afterward, there are hilyes formed as poetry and prose. However, transforming of hilyes into an artistic phenomenon has appeared through a hilye table created by calligrapher Hafiz Osman lived in 17th century. Basically, hilye is a statement as a photo of the body and life of the Prophet through expression to the third parties. Although calligraphy is called as an abstract art, hilyes are more close to be called as an abstract art than it. In this respect, hilyes should deal with as an abstract art in terms of to be created without any sample in nature, being in the table and having a visual material for art lovers as an exprerssion. In addition, the artist as creating a hilye have a goal to convey his message to the third parties, be immortal and to leave behind a trace useful. And the society purposes to create the aesthetics through written hilye. As every work of art, from viewpoint of hilye, every hilye is unique in terms of feelings and time period of the artist first and feelings and time period of the art lover afterward. From this perspective, both being replicated the work of art by the artist again and watched and enjoyed it by the art lover with the same feeling again are not the point in matter.
