Epigramma, A Short Clever Amusing Saying Or Poem That Is Inscribed On Stone And Oktay Rifat


This study try to analyze what is the meaning of epigramma and relation between Greek mythologies. And revealing the importance of epigramma is possible for looking Oktay Rifat poetica. In this study, line of development of Oktay Rifat’s poetry looks and his poetry will be evaluated in the context of Greek mythology in our history of literature. Nev-yunanilik which literary current with sound failed in Turkish literature will be touched. The questions will be answered: What is epigramma, why did Oktay Rifat translate epigrammas? What this expression (epigramma) means is Turkish expression will be emphasized via definitions of epigrammas in dictionaries’. Through using knowledge, which is given by Oktay Rifat, aims to understand what the epigrammas written since. Information concerning, translation of poetry, Oktay Rifat thoughts about translation of poetry, will be given. Thorough examples of epigrammas, the importance of these poems will be emphasized and why he cares about these poems will be taken care of. Oktay Rifat is accepted a poet who brought feel of research to modern Turkish poetry by Cemal Süreya. Cemal Süreya has asked what the importance of “Agamemnon”poem in his poetica. In this context, a Turkish poet, Oktay Rifat, questioned organic connection with the world. The question of Cemal Süreya’s will be trying to answer in the center of epigramma. Through looking at Oktay Rifat poems chronological before the poem that is Agememnon, will be determined that epigrammas is the beginning of his change.
