“Cennet Mehmed Efendi”, “Ehl-i Cennet Efendi”, “Fenâyî Ehl-i Cennet Efendi” ve “Fenâyî Mehmed Efendi” gibi isimlerle anılan Fenâyî; Aziz Mahmud Hüdâyî’nin Anadolu halifelerinden olup Celvetî tarikatının Hüdâyî yolunda giden en gür sesli simalarından birisidir. Hüdâyî’den ve Yunus Emre’den ilham alarak kaleme aldığı ilahi formundaki şiirler ağırlıklı olmak üzere oluşturduğu Dîvân’ı, ilmî yönünün ağır bastığı vaazları ve yine Hüdâyî’nin başlattığı “Tecelliyyât” kaleme alma geleneğinin bir tezahürü olarak telakki edilebilecek Tecelliyât’ı ile mutasavvıf şairler içerisinde anılmaya değer şahsiyetlerdendir. Devrinde, Celvetî ekolünün Hüdâyî’den sonra en etkili isimlerinden olan Ehl-i Cennet Efendi’nin devrin en muteber dillerinden Arapça ve Farsça’yı iyi derecede bildiği anlaşılmaktadır. Bazı araştırmacılar tarafından müridlerince yazılıp kendisine atfedildiği de belirtilen Arapça Tecelliyyât’ı; Fenâyî Efendi’nin yaşadığı manevî halleri, rüyaları ve ilhamları konu edinmektedir. Fenâyî’nin yaşadığı bu birtakım rûhî tecrübeleri müridleriyle paylaşmasındaki veya paylaşımın ona atfedilmesindeki amacın; Celvetî sûfîlerini şevk ü iştiyaka ve cezbeye getirip coşturmak, onları yaşadıkları manevî gerilimle Celvetî yoluna ve her şeyden önce İslâm’a bağlamak olduğu düşünülebilir. Bir tarikat pirinin yaşadığı fevkalâdelikleri nazara vermesi, alanın uzmanları tarafından bir tahdis-i ni'met, yani ilâhî nimetlere şükrün bir göstergesi olarak nitelendirilmekte ve tevazudan verilmiş bir taviz olarak görülmemesi gerektiği belirtilmektedir. Üzerinde durulan eser, yine bir Celvetî olan Rızâyî-i Aksarâyî tarafından tercüme edilmiştir.

Fenâyî who is called Decent Fellow Cennet Mehmed, Decent Fellow Ehl-i Cennet, Decent Fellow Fenâyî Ehl-i Cennet and Decent Fellow Fenâyî Mehmed is one of Anatolia caliphs of Dear Mahmud Hüdâyî and is one of the most stentorian voice faces on the way of Hüdâyî in Celvetî religios order. His dîvân which is inspired by Yunus Emre and Hüdâyî consigned to writing and it is mostly formed with chant verse, exhortations which is mostly scientific and again he is one of the people which worth to cite in mystic poets with Tecelliyyât which is a result of opinion is the custom of Tecelliyyât consign to writing begins with Hüdâyî. In his term Decent Fellow Ehl-i Cennet who is the one of the most effective names after Hüdâyî in Celvetî school. It is understood that Hüdâyî knows Arabic and Persian well. It is specified that Arabic Tecelliyyât which was written by some researches with his follower and despatched to him is about interior attitudes of Decent Fellow Fenâyî, dreams and inspirations. It is thought that the aim of the sharing some psychological experiences with his followers or the aim of this sharing despatch to him is that it motivates Celvetî mystics and with rapturing elate them, join them the way of Celvetî which they lived in pyschological tension and above all, join Islam.
