Günümüzde yabancı dil eğitiminde görsel materyallerin önemi ve gerekliliği tartışılamaz bir hal almıştır. Görsel materyal veya unsurlar öğrencilerin konuyu daha iyi anlamasını ve konunun akılda kalmasını sağlamaktadır. Görsel materyallerin yabancı dil eğitimininde kullanımı, önemi ve öğrenci üzerinde etkisi gibi konular çerçevesinde bir çok çalışma bulunmaktadır. Bu makalede görsel materyal olan ‚PowerPoint Sunu ve Slayt Programı‘nın yabancı dil dersine yönelik nasıl hazırlanması gerektiği, yabancı dil öğretiminde görsel sunu hazırlanırken nelere dikkat edilmesi gerektiği ve büyük bir önem taşıyan dört temel beceriye ne gibi katkı sağladığı ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Sunular Almanca olmak üzere, hedef kitle çocuklar olarak belirlenmiş ve Çukurova Üniversitesi Alman Dili Eğitimi Anabilim Dalı ‚YDA-417 Almanca Öğretiminde Görsel Materyal Kullanımı‘ adlı derste birer öğretmen adayı olan 4. sınıf öğrencileri tarafından hazırlanmıştır. Çalışma ilk bölümde eğitimde ‚PowerPoint Sunu’nun durumuna ve önemine değinmekte, sonraki bölümlerde ise hazırlanan sunuların yabancı dil eğitiminde dikkate alınması gereken dört temel beceri olan ‚okuma, duyma, konuşma ve yazma’ya ne gibi katkıları olduğu ortaya çıkartılmaya çalışılmakta ve vurgulanmaktadır. Ayrıca öğrencilerin sunularını bu becerileri göz önünde bulundurarak nasıl şekillendirdikleri üzerinde durulmaktadır. Öğrencilerin yaptıkları bu sunular daha sonra animasyon programına dönüştürülerek video barındırma sitesi olan Youtube’a yüklenerek görselleştirilmiştir. Öğrenci sunuları değerlendirildiğinde, bunların yabancı dil eğitimdeki 4 temel beceriye yönelik hazırlandığı ve öğrencilerin de bu esnada Almanca bilgilerinin geliştiği ve temel Almanca konularının tekrar canlandığı ve gelecekte Almanca’yı nasıl öğreteceklerini daha iyi kavradıkları gözlemlenmiştir. Sunuların hazırlanması aşamasında öğretmen adayları dört temel becerinin yanı sıra Almanca dil bilgisinden ve kültüründen gerekli öğeleri de hem kendileri öğrenmiş bulunmakta hem de hedef kitle olan çocuklara da aktarmışlardır.

Today, the importance and neccessity of visual materials in education of foreign languages have become an incontrovertible fact.Visual materials or elements make the students comprehend the subject better and keep it for a long period. There are many studies concerning the issues like the use, the importance of visual materials in foreign language education and the impact on students. In this article, it is tried to set forth how powerpoint presentations and slide programms, which are visual materials, should be prepared, what shoud be taken into consideration while preparing visual materials in teaching foreign languages and how they contribute to the four basic skills which are of great importance. Presentations, which are in German, are prepared by the students of fourth grade who are teacher candidates in the lesson of ’YDA-417 The Use of Visual Materials in Teaching German‘ in the department of German Language Teaching at the University of Çukurova and the target group is determined as the children. In the first part of the study, it is mentioned about the condition and importance of powerpoint presentation in education and in the subsequent parts of the study it is tried to reveal and emphasize as how the presentations, which are prepared, contribute to the four basic skils; reading, listening, speaking and writing that should be taken into account in foreign language education. It is also pointed out as how the students shape their presentaions considering the four skills. The presentations, prepared by the students, were converted into animation programmes and visualized by uploading on Youtube which is a website where people keep videos. When students presentations were evaluated, it was observed that those presantations were prepared considering the four basic skills in foreign language education and meanwhile students’ knowledge of German were developed, the basic German subjects were revived in minds and it was also observed that the students apprehended how to teach German in the future better. In the preparation phase of the presentations, the teacher candidates have not only grasped the neccessary elements from the German grammar and culture beside the four basic skills but they have also conveyed them to the children who are the target the target group.
