The Course of the Torture Fiction in Turkish Novel in Terms of the Communication

In this study, a comparative analysis is made of several novels which have fictionalised the torture carried out during the military interventions of 12th March and 12th September. The ruling power and resistance movements against it are of importance in terms of understanding the other views of society and thus seeing the barriers to democratic coexistence. Therefore, we have indicated as a moment of dialogue with words and attitudes which most clearly express the feelings and thoughts of tyranny and pockets of resistance at the moment of torture. In the study, the different approaches which were referred the torture to the power, were succested by their conceptual dimensions. Afterwards, the novels handled were analised by focusing on the time of the torture. In addition amotional situations of the protagonist and the torturer were evaluated by making comparisons every now and then and also including the outhor’s perspective to the torture. In the study of novels on the subject of torture in the 12th March period, the torture itself is seen not so much as an interrogation as a violation of human rights, but rather is espoused in a single type of language as praise to heroism born from the sufferings against absolute evil. Whereas in post 12th September novels, different viewpoints are adopted due to both the changes in the structure of society and different sections of society having experienced the same suffering. Different languages exploring political, philosophical sociological and psychological depths, which are directed both at self and others, enclose the interrogator in a structure. However, the novels dealing with the subject of 12th September, albeit for different reasons, always give a feeling of disappointment.
