The purpose of this study is to define how and what way the reading motivation, reading fluency and reading comprehension effect the academic achievement fifth grade. There was a structural model developed and tested in the framework of the correlational desingn. There were 135 students fifth year primary students studying in a school located in Etimesgut town of Ankara province. The reading motivation of the students were determined by the use of Motivations for Reading Questionnaire in Turkish Form . The level of the reading fluency was determined by oral reading an appropriate text in the classroom. The errors made throughout the study were determined to find the reading rate and accuracy. The prosody which another indicator of the reading fluency was determined by the use of Multidimensional Fluency Scale. The data necessary for the determination of the reading comprehension levels of the students were obtained from the narrative and expository comprehension and vocabulary tests. The academic achievements of the students were determined from their mathematics, science and social sciences grades. The Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was employed in order to answer the research question. The data analyses were carried out by the SPSS and AMOS statiscal software. The data obtained in the study showed that the reading motivation, reading fluency and the reading comprehension explain %61 of the variance in the academic achievements of the students. This is thought to be a very big contribution to the literature. The approaches towards the reading comprehension in texts book should be thoroughly revised. The number of the studies for the promotion of the reading motivation, teaching the reading fluency and furnishing the students with reading comprehension skill should definitely be increased.
