Suffixes and compound verb structures have been used, so to meet the meaning of tense concept in historical and contemporary dialects of Turkish. And sometimes as in the statement of continuous tense in the ear of Old Turkish, it’s known that some tense concepts are expressed via different tense suffix. In this process, along with the suffixes that are confined to a certain tense, also the structures consisting from auxiliary verb, which lost its meaning with verbal adverb suffix, are used to determine the tense. One of these auxiliary verbs is dur- (< tur-). Structures, which this verb forms with the verbal adverbs suffixes {-A}, {-I} and {-(I)p}, are used the meet the meaning of continuous tense in historical and contemporary dialects. Thus this structure which in some contemporary dialects becomes a present continuous tense suffix by sustaining haplology has also been used with the function of past tense since the era of Khorezmian Turkic language. This structure which becomes a past tense suffix in various dialects – Initially Turkmen Turkic language – continues to exist in some dialects in Eastern Anatolia Region today. But no info exists as to the use of this structure as past tense in other regions of dialect in Anatolian area. We determined in the study we conducted upon the dialects of Aydın and of its districts that this structure has the function of being both past tense and perfect tense. In this study, the usage of the structure of {-Ip-durur} in the historical and contemporary dialects will be dealt with and the samples of this structure in the dialects of Aydın and of its districts will be dwelled upon.
