Folk tales are the first products of transformation from nomadism to the settled life. They always work on the subjects of love and heroism. These works which have taken their source from the culture of Turkish, Arabian-İslam and Indian-Iran are expressions of mixture of verse and prose told by lovers and public storytellers in a great extent. Turkish folk tales are works that meet the novel needs of our nation. The tale of Ferhat and Şirin has also met the needs of the nation for long years.
