Sezai Karakoç’un şiirlerinde coğrafya önemli bir unsurdur. Onun coğrafyası genelde bütün Ortadoğu ve İslam coğrafyasını özelde ise Diyarbakır, Ergani ve çevresini kapsar. Karakoç, memleketine ait kültürel, tarihsel ve insansal unsurları mistik bir atmosfer içerisinde yazınsal söyleme taşır. Doğduğu coğrafyanın yoksul olması, annesi ve çocukluğuna dair hatıraları söz konusu atmosferi dinamitlemiştir. Bu çalışmada, şairin doğduğu coğrafya ve çevresinin şiirine yansımaları irdelenecektir. Bu coğrafyanın önemli meknalarından biri Diyarbakır ve Dicle Nehri’dir. Diyarbakır, zengin çağrışımlarla şiirlerde yer alır. Diyarbakır için şehir sözcüğünü kullanan şair, mekanın önemli tarihsel ve kültürel yerlerine atıfta bulunur. Dicle nehri ise Diyarbakır Bağdat gibi şehirlere hayat veren bir nehir konumundadır. Çalışmada Eregani’nin de memleket bağlamında önemli bir yere sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir. Şairin Ergani’den hareketle bütün bir kasaba atmosferini şiirine egemen kıldığı saptanmıştır. Gül’e ev sahipliği yapan Karakoç’un memleketi, bazen genişler ve bütün bir Mezopotamya olur. Önemli dinsel ve tarihsel olaylara öncülük eden ancak bu gün yoksul olan bu toprakların bir gün kendi ilhamı ile tekrar dirileceği düşüncesini duyumsatır. Çocukluk anıları memlekete dair imgeleri güçlendirmiştir. Şairin üzerinde derin izler bırakan çocukluk, acı tatlı bütün yönleriyle dizelere yansıtılmıştır. Çocukluğunda bütün yaşadıkları geniş bir açılıma kavuşur. Şairin annesi de memleket algısını güçlendirdiği gözlemlenmiştir. Annesinin ev içindeki silihueti ve onunla yaşadıkları, memlekete bağlılığı artmıştır.

In the poems of Sezai Karakoç, geography is an important factor. His geography comprise in general whote Middleeast and islamic geography and in special Diyarbakır, Ergani and its environment. Karakoç carries to literatural speech the cutural, historical and humanity factors in a mystical atmosphere. Because the geography, that he was born, is poor has caused to explore the atmosphere of the memories of his mother and his childhood. In this work the reflection to the poem about the geography, that poet was born and its environment will be examinated. Some of important location of this geography Diyarbakır and Tigris. Diyarbakır placed in poems with connotations. Poet who has usedcity word for Diyarbakır at first, has refered to cultural and historicalplaces of the location. So Tigris is in a position that gives life to suchcities like Diyarbakır and Baghdad. In the work it has said also Ergani as a homeland has been an important place. It is pointed out that poets hasreflected whole atmosphere of Ergani this poems. The homeland, which has been home ownership of Rose, of Karakoç, sometime broadened and became become whole Mesopotamia. This land which hasleaded many cultural and religious events and the land, which is very poortoday is thought that one of a day will resuscitated. Childhoodmemories has reinforced images about homeland. Childhood which has remained deep impressionsover the Poet, has been reflected with whole good and bad ways to his verses. In his childhood, whole his life come out in a wide way. It has been seen thatmother of poet also has reinforced sense of homeland. The silhouette andexperiences of his mother with him at home, has increased loyalty of homeland.
