Öncelikli olarak geçişlilik-geçişsizlik niteliklerinin değişken olup olmadığının, geçişli bir eylemin kurduğu cümlede nesnenin yer alma koşullarının sorgulandığı çalışmada, söz konusu özelliklerin yapısal olmadığı, eylemle doğuştan gelen nitelik olduğu, yani geçişlilik ya da geçişsizliğin herhangi bir ekle verilip ya da herhangi bir kullanımla ortadan kaldırılamadığı sonucuna varılmıştır. Çatı kapsamında ele alınması düşünülen geçişlilik-geçişsizlik, yüklem-nesne / eylem-ad, zamir ilişkilerini yönetme, sisteme girmesi / sistem dışında tutulması gereken unsurları (nesne) yönlendirme işlevlerini üstlenir.
