Ibn al'Arabi and Effects on the Ottoman Philosophical/Mystical Thought: Sample of Sheikh Bedreddin


Ibn al’Arabi was born city of Mursiye of Endulus.(17 Ramadan 560/28 July 1165) He made first education in Isbiliyye(Sevilla). Then traveled Tunisia and Morocco and developed his knowledge. In the next phase of his life, he traveled to Gırnata, Kurtuba, Egypt, Medina, Mecca, Baghdad, Mosul, Urfa, Diyarbakır, Sivas, Malatya, Konya and finally to Damascus. He is an important pioneer in Islamic thought and he revealed the thought of unity of existence. He influenced with the ideas Seljuk geography and Ottoman geography. He died in Damascus (22 Rebiulâhir 638/ 10 November 1240). As one of the important historical figure history of Ottoman ideas, Seyh Bedreddin(760/1358-823/1420), with his mystic identification in Anatolian geography is a follower of the school İbn al’ Arabi. Indeed, support to these ideas his thoughts in Varidat. Emphasizing that this book he is in line of Ekberi, reveals Sheikh Bedreddin is in line of Ibn al’ Arabi. In this context, Sheikh Bedreddin is representing a figure in Anatolian geography adopted the teachings of sufism/his philosophy Ibn al’ Arabî in the end of the 14th century and at the beginning of the century of 15th. This study of us, the two architects of history of thought, Sheikh Bedreddin and Ibn al’ Arabi, will focus on the field of philosophical ideas and belief ideas. For this purpose, we will be compared the general lines of the two thinkers. For examples mind and philosophy of information.
