16. yüzyılda yaşayan Sûdî Sa′dî-i Şirâzî′nin geniş bir coğrafyada büyük beğeniyle okunan Bostan ve Gülistan′ına şerh yazmış bir şahsiyettir. Şerhlerindeki derin bilgi ve birikimini gösteren açıklamalar yanında sağlam mantık ve dile hâkimiyet eserlerini ayrıcalıklı bir konuma yükseltmiştir. Sûdî Şerh-i Gülistan′da kendinden önce Gülistan′a şerh yazanlarla ilgili yaklaşık binbeşyüz yerde eleştiride bulunur. Eleştirilere hedef olan şarihlerden birisi de Şem′î′dir. Eserde yaklaşık beşyüz yerde Şem′î′yi hedef alan eleştiriler bulunmaktadır. Bu eleştiriler bazı yönlerden iç içe girmiş bir hal alsa da bunları Sağlam Nüshalara Muhalefet Etmekle İlgili Eleştiriler, Anlamla İlgili Eleştiriler ve Dilbilgisi, Üslûp ve Nazım Şekilleri ile İlgili Eleştiriler olarak üç ana başlık altında toplamak mümkündür. Sağlam Nüshalara Muhalefet Etmekle İlgili Eleştiriler′de her iki şarihin hayatı ve Gülistan′a yazdıkları şerh hakkında kısaca bilgi verildiği için bu makalede bunlar tekrar edilmeyecek, Şem′î′nin metni anlamlandırma hususunda düştüğü yanlışlıklar ve Sûdî′nin bunlara eleştirileri sınıflandırılacak, bu eleştiriler ve gerekçeleri ayrıntılı olarak ele alındıktan sonra her iki şarihten hangisinin haklı olduğu gösterilmeye çalışılacaktır.
Sudi who has lived in the 16th century is an author who wrote interpretation to Sa’di-i Şirazi’s Bostan and Gulistan which were read widely in the worldwide area with great pleasure. Sudi’s explanation which display his deep knowledge and background as well as display his strong logic and language ability exalted his works a distinguished position. Sudi in the Şerh-i Gulistan approximately in thousand and five hundred places criticize the previous interpreters of Gulistan. One of the targets of the critics is Şem’i. In the work, there are critics on Şem’i’s interpretation approximately in five hundred places. Although these critics are complicated in some ways, these can be grouped into three main titles: The critics relating to the differences from the main copy, the critics on meaning and the critics on grammar, style and verse forms. In the critics relating to the differences from the main copy there are brief information about both interpreters and their interpretations about Gulistan. Therefore these information will not be repeated here. In this article, the mistakes which occured in the Şem’i’s annotation about the meaning of text and Sudi’s objection will be classified. These critics and justifications will be explained in details. Consequently it will be tried to determine which annotator is more accurate in his justifications.
