Bilgi çağı, iletişim çağı olarak nitelendirilen bu çağda, üretilen bilginin o bilgiye sahip olması gereken kişi ve kurumlarla belirli kanallar üzerinden paylaşımı önem kazanmıştır. Çünkü bilginin üretimi ve üretilen bu bilginin çeşitli iletişim kanalları yoluyla paylaşımı arttıkça, önemi ve etki alanı da hızla genişler. Günümüzün iletişim olanakları, hızla gelişen teknolojik gelişmeler sayesinde büyük bir evrim geçirmiştir. Bu gelişmeler çerçevesinde, kişilerin güç duruma düşmemeleri ve şok yaşamamaları için, kendilerini daha donanımlı bir duruma getirmeleri de önemli bir gereksinim olarak ortaya çıkmış; teknolojik gelişmelerin büyük bir hızla bilgi sistemlerine uyarlanması önem kazanmıştır. Bu çalışmada, Türkçenin eğitimi ve öğretimi açısından elektronik ortamda bilgi paylaşımının önemine ve elektronik ortamda bilgi paylaşımının eğitim-öğretim çalışmalarına sağlayacağı katkıya değinilecektir.
