17. yy’ın büyük şairi Nabi’nin nesri de çok güçlüdür. Süslü ama sağlam bir cümle yapısı vardır. Münşeatında nükteli, şakacı, latifeli ve alay ifadeli mektupları boldur. Nabi konuya ve şahsa göre değişik üslupla yazmıştır. Bazen ciddi ve ağır; bazen muhatabını etkilemek isteyen benzetmelerle dolu, mizah yönü kuvvetli cümlelerle yazmıştır. Kendisine hediye olarak at gönderen Rami’ye teşekkür için yazdığı mektup tam bir mizah örneğidir. Mektubunda atı bir sevgili gibi tasvir etmiş, özelliklerini yazmıştır. Nabi who is the greatest poet in 17th century has a very strong prose too. He has ornate but strong writing style. There are lots of letters full of ironical statements and jokes. Nabi wrote according to topic and person by using different types. Sometimes they are serious and difficult, sometimes they are full of similes to effect the readers, he wrote and use sentences in a strong humorous style. The letter written for thanking to Rami Pasha who sent a horse to Nabi for a present is an exactly kind of example of humorous style. He portrayed the horse as a lover and wrote its characteristics in this letter. In this abstract, examples are given from Münşeat, and the full letter is presented.
