Time is a physical fenomenon, by means of which human beings can sense and record changes in the environment and in the universe. Time is also universal. Tense is a category of verbal inflection that indicates a relationship between the topic time and the time of speech. A verb tense can also give the topic time as past (TT<), present (TTo), or future (TT>). In comparison to time, tense is not universal; in many languages (mostly isolating languages, like Chinese) the concept of time is expressed not by the verb but by other parts of speech (temporal adverbials or even nouns, for example).
