Oghuz Turkic and Anatolia based (Oghuz) Turkish

The Oghuz constitute an important group of the Turkic peoples. Today, they live in various concentrations of the population in an area stretching from the Oxus (“Amu Darya”) to the Balkan-Peninsula. Their population is approximately 120 million. Throughout history, the Oghuz Turkic was the everyday language of all of the Oghuz peoples. However, the same is not true about their literary language (“high-level language”). This article basically studies the process of Oghuz Turkic developing into a literary language. Due to the political, economic, social and cultural circumstances of their time and in connection with the administrative systems of the states under which they ruled. In Anatolia and in Northern-Azerbaijan, the Oghuz were able to develop their literary language. Efforts are being made in Turkmenistan with regards to this issue and it is not an issue in the remaining parts of the Oghuz regions.
