18. yüzyılın başından itibaren, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu Batı dünyasına açılmaya başlamış ve kendini yenileme çabaları içine girmiştir. Yeni oluşan bu ortam içerisinde hükümdar III. Ahmet ve Sadrazam Nevşehirli Damat İbrahim Paşa himayesinde, sanata geniş olanaklar sağlanmıştır. Dönemin önemli sanatçısı Levni de bu kültürel ortam içerisinde önemli sanatsal yaratılara imza atmıştır. Bu çalışmada Levni imzalı figür resimlerinden yola çıkılarak sanatçının resim anlayışı ve içinde yaşanılan dönemin bu yaratılara etkisi araştırılmıştır.
Since the beginning of the 18 th century, the Ottoman Empire had been began to open up the Western world and has entered into self-renewal efforts. In this the newly formed environment, under the auspices of Sultan Ahmet and the Grand Vizier Nevşehirli Damat Ibrahim Pasha, has been provided ample opportunities for art. Levni that is important artist of the period in this cultural environment, had created some important artistic works. In this paper, through the figure paintings which are made by Levni, understanding of the artist's painting and effects of period in which he lived to his artistic works are researched.
