Michal Czajkowski who took cover to Ottoman State after the 1848 İssue of Refugees was one of the most important personelities. He became muslim and changed his name as Mehmed Sadyk. When the issue of refugees had been resolved, he was employed in Ottoman army. Michal Czajkowski served in different units of Ottoman army and he was promoted to generalship. Michal Czajkowski took duty in Crimean War and he fought aganist Russians. He established Cossack Cavalry Regiment dependent on himself. This regiment that has a specific structure, emerged as a result of the experiences of Michal Czajkowski. The regiment consisted of Polish and Hungarian refugees that took cover to Ottoman State, Cossacks and Tatarians. Dragon Troops were formed in the structure of the regiment. Cossack Cavalry Regiment was usually used to provide public order and security in Balkan border. Afterwards, because of the new regulations in Ottoman army, Cossack Cavalry Regiment was disbanded and were added to third army.
