Tanzimat döneminde başlayan yeni alfabe ve yazım tartışmaları, 1 Kasım 1928’de yeni alfabenin kabul edilmesiyle yazım boyutunda günümüze kadar devam edegelmiştir. Yeni alfabede söyleyişe dayalı bir yazım düzeni benimsenmiştir. Sözcüklerin nasıl yazılacağı da Türk Dil Kurumu tarafından hazırlanan yazım kılavuzunda belirtilmiştir. Ancak, kurum tarafından hazırlanan ve 24. baskısına ulaşan kılavuzların önceki baskıları ile sonraki baskıları arasında, aynı kelimelerin farklı yazılışları tespit edilmiştir. Bu değişiklikler tartışmaları da beraberinde getirmiştir. Bu makalede TDK’nin yayımladığı yazım kılavuzlarının 1929, 1941, 1965, 1977, 1993, 1996, 2005 yılı baskılarındaki A dizininde yer alan sözcükler; Düzeltme işaretinin yazımı, Fonetik değişiklik olan sözcüklerin yazımı, Birleşik sözcüklerin yazımı olmak üzere 3 ana başlıkta incelenmiştir.
Discussions on new alphabet and orthography(spelling) which started in the Tanzimat Era have remained with the acceptance of new alphabet in 1st November 1928 until today in the aspect of spelling. A spelling order based upon pronunciation was adopted in newly accepted alphabet. How to spell the words was also specified in the dictionary of spelling prepared by the Turkish Language Association(TDK). However, different spellings of the same words in the dictionaries of spelling prepared by the Association and that have come at 24th edition were detected between previous editions and next editions. These differences have also given rise to discussions. In this article,the words that take place in index A of the editions of 1929, 1941, 1965, 1977, 1993, 1996 and of 2005 published by TDK are examined under three main titles as the Writing of Correction Mark, as the Spelling of the Words That Have Phonetical Differences and as the Spelling of Compund Words.
