Sanatoriums and their applications that bear the trace of old Turkish believes commonly proceed in and around Tarsus like many other places in Anatolia. In this article, first of all, we will inform about some people named “ocak” or “ocakli” in and around Tarsus and how this custom is maintained.Afterwards, we will introduce sanatoriums and their applications and evaluate them in terms of their stuructural and functional features.
