Sezai Karakoç, Cumhuriyet devrinin önde gelen şairlerinden biridir. Karakoç, sadece şiirleriyle değil ortaya koyduğu medeniyet tasavvuruyla da Türk düşünce tarihinde önemli bir yer tutmuştur. Karakoç’un medeniyet tasavvurunda önemle üzerinde durduğu hususlardan biri coğrafyadır. Şair, gerek fikrî yazılarında gerek şiirlerinde bütün dünya coğrafyasına eğilir ve çeşitli meseleler etrafında bu coğrafyaları yazılarına veya şiirlerine taşır. Ancak onun üzerinde durduğu coğrafya tabii bir unsur olmaktan öte tarihî, kültürel ve medeniyet noktasında bir kimliğe ve bütünlüğe sahip kültürel bir coğrafyadır. Bu çalışmada, şairin gerek fikrî yazılarında gerek şiirlerinde coğrafyaya nasıl bir yer verdiğini, biyografisinde coğrafyanın önemini ve şiirlerinde coğrafyanın işleniş biçimini inceleyecek, yer yer coğrafya merkezli okumalar yapacağız.
Sezai Karakoç is one of the important poets in the literature of Republic period. Also his civilization concept is very important in the Turkish thought history. One of the important element is geography at the his civilization concept. The poet touches the entire world in his opinion based writings as well as his poems and carries these geographies to his prose and poem through various issues. However, the geography he emphasizes on is the one with an identity and unity in respect to culture and civilization rather than being a natural element. In this study, the way the poet gives importance to geography in his prose and poems will be analyzed and the significance of geography and the way geography was dealt in his poems will be examined, occasionally we will do geography centered readings.
