With westernization and increased bigotry reaching the level of western countries, it manifested itself in each area differently, with the Tanzimat the progress (westernization) became faster. The schools were no longer employed by members of the military, but ordinary citizens, who also became teachers after academics were employed. The author whose real name was Moiz Kohen, but known as Munis Tekinalp, esearched the adoption of a German teaching system at he Darülfünun and Turkish militaries. He researched the way of life of German students, scientists, and military personnel; his results were discussed in two different cience magazine articles. These articles covered the way of life of the students and military personnel, detailing every aspect, right down to the nuts & bolts (nitty gritty....slang) of their lives, literally.
