Contributions Of Rumelian Poets To Classical Turkish Literature

The Rumelian poets play an important role in Classical Turkish Literature. Many of the poets' birth places that are mentioned in the biography (tezkire) are Rumelia. They leaded about some subjects and had contributions in Classical Turkish Literature. Writing shehrengiz is started by Rumelian poets in our literature. Divan poets used syllabic meter together with aruz meter while they were writing their poems. Syllabic meter in Classical Turkish Literature is started by Rumelian poets. Rumelian poets mentioned real beloveds and lovers in their poems more than the other poets. In this study, contributions of Rumelian poets to Classical Turkish Literature will be mentioned by giving examples.
