Bu makalede, Özbekistan’daki ölüm âdetleri yer almaktadır. İlk önce ölüm, can ve ruh ile ilgili düşünceler ele alınmıştır. Daha sonra ölüm anı, ölünün yıkanması, ölünün kefenlenmesi, taziye ve ölü yemeği, yas tutma gibi alt başlıklara yer verilmiştir. Özbekistan’da ölümle ilgili âdetler çoğunlukla İslam dininin esaslarına uygun olmakla birlikte, İslam öncesi döneme ait uygulama ve inanışlara da rastlanmaktadır. Bu coğrafyada yaşayan farklı etnik grupların ve Türk boylarının ölüm âdetleri arasında bazı farklılıklar vardır. Makalede bu farklılıklara da yer verilmiştir.
This essay is about the funeral rites in Uzbekistan. The first part includes a consideration of ideas on death, life and spirit. And afterwards the moment of death, the washing and shrouding of the deceased, the meal and condolence ceremonies, and the mourning after the deceased are dealt with in successive headings. Ceremonies and customs regarding death in Uzbekistan are generally practiced within the traditions of Islam nevertheless there are also some traditions adopted from pre-Islamic periods. There are also many differences between the death traditions among the various races and even among those of different Turkish clans living on this geography. Besides, this study also provides information on these traditional variations.
