Bu çalışmada edebiyat ve eğitim arasında kurulabilecek ilgilerden hareketle Füruzan’ın öyküleri incelendi. Bu öykülerde eğitime dair anlatılan durumlardan hareketle öğretmenlere, eğitim sistemine ve toplumun eğitim anlayışına yönelik yapılan eleştiriler ortaya konuldu. Böylece eğitimle ilgili unsurların Füruzan’ın eserlerinde ne şekilde yer aldığı belirlendi. Çoğunluğu yoksul kesimden olan öykü kişilerinin bir kısmı, bir kurtuluş yolu olarak gördükleri için okuma mücadelesi verirler. Diğer bir kısmı ise geçmişte kalsa da olumsuz özelliklerle dolu okul yıllarına dair anılarını asla unutamazlar. Bütün bunlar dolaylı da olsa yazarın öykülerini kaleme aldığı 1970’li yılların eğitim anlayışını ve bunun öykü kişileri tarafından nasıl algılandığını yansıtır. Öte yandan Füruzan’ın öyküleri, edebiyatın diğer alanların yanı sıra eğitime dair de zengin bir malzeme sunabileceğini gösterir.
In this study we analysed Füruzan’s stories within the context of the relationship between literature and education. In these stories, such themes as educational system, schooling, and teaching are employed. The concept of education and the criticisms made about it were scrutinized. Thus, elements related with education were determined as based on Füruzan’s works. Most of the characters in these stories view education as a means of salvation and thus try to struggle for it. An other group of characters in his stories nostalgically aspire for the earliest memories of their educational background, which they view as immortal. All these things reflect the educational convention of 1970s, though in a rather implied way, as well as indicating that literature can present rich materials compiled to education, as it has been the case for the other fields.
