Bu çalışmada, mesnevilerde şair kavramı ile bir şairin sahip olması gereken vasıflar ya da taşımaması gereken özellikler incelenmiştir. Bu amaçla birçok mesnevi taranmış, içinde şairle ile ilgili değerlendirmelerin bir bölüm halinde bulunduğu ya da beyitler boyunca ele alındığı mesneviler tespit edilmiştir. Sadece şair ismi zikredilen mesnevi sayısı çok olmakla beraber bunlar, şairle ilgili özel değerlendirmelere girdiği için çalışma dışında bırakılmıştır. Çalışmada ortak özellikler bir başlık altında toplanmıştır. Bir fikir vermesi açısından yer yer uzun örnekler verilmiştir.
In this study, the concept of poet in Mesnevis and the virtues that apoet should carry and/or not embody are examined. In reaching this aim, many mesnevis are investigated. The mesnevis which include a part of the evaluations about the poet or the evaluations through the verses are determined. Although the number of mesnevis which include the name of the poet is high, these Works are kept out of the scope of this study since they constitute private Works about the poet. Common features are embodied under a heading in the study. In order to provide an idea, sometimes long examples are used.
