On sekiz sayısı, Allah'ın 99 isminden biri olan Hayy’ın ebced hesabı ile on sekize karşılık gelmesi, besmelenin sessiz harflerinin adedinin on sekiz oluşu ve Mevlânâ'nın Mesnevî adlı eserinin ilk on sekiz beytini bizzat kendisinin yazması sebebiyle Mevlevîler için önemli ve kutsal sayılır. Şeyh Gâlip de Mevlevî bir şair olarak Hüsn ü Aşk adlı eserinde on sekiz sayısına önem vermiştir. Bu makale, Şeyh Galip'in Hüsn ü Aşk’ında geçen on sekiz ve katlarına dair manzumeleri tanıtmayı amaçlamaktadır.
Eighteen is regarded as highly important and sacred by Mevlevism because Hayy, one of Allah’s 99 names, constitutes eighteen with the method of ebced; consonants of the phrase “bismillahirrahmanirrahim” are eighteen and Mevlana composed the first eighteen couplets of Mesnevi by himself. As a Mevlevi poet Sheikh Galip considered eighteen in his written work too. This article aims to explain number of eighteen and its multiples in the poems of Sheikh Galip’s “Hüsn ü Aşk”.
