Türkî-i Basît
Turkî-i Basît is a poetry comprehension based upon non-subordinates formed with Turkish words, which was initiated by Tatavlalı Mahremî and Edirneli Nazmî in the 16th century, upon increasing the use of Arabic and particularly Persian words in Divan Literature. This thought was first put forward by Fuat Köprülü. Those who adopted this thought of Köprülü regarded Turkî-i Basît as the movement of Turkish Conservatizm, nationalist and reaction to usage of Arabic and Persian words. In the recent studies related to the subject, ıt is suggested that Turkî-i Basît is not a literary movement but a branch of localization with just a movement characteristic.
