The Breeze Coming From Oguzca: The Comparasion Of Some Words Spoken In Karakoyunlu Nomad With Those Defined In The Dictionary Of The Turkish Language Association
In the present assay, the meaning of some words spoken by the Karakoyunlu Yorukleri (KY), large part of them have been settled in the region of Antalya and some still endure to live a nomadic life were assessed. The language of KY includes the words from Turkish in XIII and XIV centuries in Anatolia and ancient Turkic words. The meaning of words spoken by nomadic Karakoyunlu people was compared with those defined in the Great Turkish Dictionary (GTD) published on the WEB of Turkish Language Association. In this study, 56 out of 690 words were not listed in GTD and 156 words have a similar meaning in both Karakoyunlu and GTD. Although 131 words were listed in GTD, their meanings were different from the spoken dialectic of Karakoyunlu Nomad.
