Hangi kelimelerde kullanılacak, hangilerinde kullanılmayacak ya da hiç mi kullanılmaması gerekiyor, bütün bunlar tartışma konusu olmuştur. Bu çalışmada, Türk Dil Kurumu ve özel yayınevleri tarafından değişik zamanlarda hazırlanmış imlâ (yazım) kılavuzları incelenerek, düzeltme (uzatma, inceltme) işaretiyle ilgili görüşlere ve tartışmalara yer verilecektir.
The use of the circumflex accent is one of the problems in Turkish. It is not certain to use it with certain words or not. It is also not known whether it is never used.
