One of the most coloured cultures existing in Anatolia is Hızır culture. This cult existing in many different places has some common features. Besides, beiefs in Hızır in some regions differ from each other. One of these regions is Hatay. As a place where people from different cultures live in harmony Hatay presents a cultural richness. Living as thickly populated in Hatay Arab Alawis called Nusayri people are one of the branch of this cultural richness. For Nusayri people, who differ from Alawi people in many respects, Hızır is of extra importance. It is believed that Hızır and Moses met in Samandağ district of Hatay.
