Bu çalışmada Aydın’da bir yer adı olan Çeştepe kelimesi ve kökeni ayrıntılı bir şekilde araştırılmıştır. “Çeş” ve “tepe” kelimelerinden oluşan bu yer adı, art ve eş zamanlı değişik kullanımlarıyla ele alınmış ve ayrıca yer adlarının dilcilikteki önemi vurgulanmıştır. “Çeş” ve “tepe” kelimelerinin ikisi de tarihî ve coğrafî olarak geniş ölçüde kullanılmış ve günümüzde hâlâ kullanılmaktadır.
In the present study, the word and the origin of Çeştepe, which is a topony in Aydın, were investigated in details. This topony composing of the words “çeş” and “tepe”, was discussed synchronously and diachronically and also the importance of toponies in linguistics was emphasised. Both of “çeş” and “tepe” were widely used historically and geographically, and are still being used today.
