«Shaikh Sanan» - a legend about sufi sheikh, falling in love of christian girl, is part of the «The Conference of the Birds» by Attar Nishaburi. This parable about love of Moslem to the Christian maiden is one of the widespread theme have been used in Azerbaijan classic and modern literature. The last work in Azerbaijani literature written about Shaikh Sanan`s love history belongs to Fakhri Ughurlu, XXI century poet. Fakhri Ughurlu added some subjects to this popular tale using his poetic potential and created a new love story.
