It is a well known reality that there are problems in the education of classical Turkish literature because of some reasons such as used language, meter, image world and cultural differences etc. This study is aimed to analyse the problems in classical Turkish literature education and to recommend some ways to approach these problems. The considerations about the subject were obtained from the Turkish language and literature teachers who work in several high schools (a total of 18 high schools) of Erzurum city centre. These considerations and the results arranged from the examinations in these high schools were evaluated in the stages of our study.
