Genç Osman-Occurrence In Turkish Plays In The Coherence Of New Turkish Literature And History

One of the most important sources of literary work from The Tanzimat period to today is history. Especially novel, story and play writers have frequently recourse to the history as they find prepared material in history. One of the interesting historical events of 17th century is Genc Osman’s assassination, which has been processed by three Turkish play writers. Although their themes are the same, every writer gives the reasons and results of the event with his contemporary interpretation. Writers do not work a historical event with its previous analysis, but they add some messages to the modern human being.
