Cumhuriyet dönemi Türk şiirinin önemli isimlerin¬den biri olan Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı, sadece çocuklar için şiir yazmamıştır. Şair, bazı şiirlerinde çocuk duyuşunu ve duyarlılığını başarılı şekilde yansıtmaktadır. Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı, çocuk edebiyatına kaynaklık eden masal, teker¬leme gibi türlerden yararlanarak da şiirler kaleme almış¬tır. Bu şiirlerde dil ve üsluptaki sadelik dikkat çekmekte¬dir. Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı’nın bazı şiirlerinde, çocukluk ha¬tıralarından ya da kendisindeki çocuk ruhu ve duyuşun¬dan kaynaklanan imajlar ve söyleyişler görülmektedir. Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı’nın çocuklar için uygun şiirleri tespit edilerek bu şiirler masal, tekerleme gibi türlerle gösterdiği ilgi ve yakınlıklar yönünden sınıflandırılmıştır. Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı’nın bu çalışmada tespit edilen şiirleri, çocuk ede¬biyatına kaynaklık etmesi yönünden önem taşımaktadır.
Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı, one of the most significant poets of the republican period, has not written his poems merely for children. However, the poet successfully reflects the emotionality and the sentimentality of children in his poems. Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı has also produced poems by making use of the fundamental genres of the child literature such as tales and nursery rhymes. The simplicity of the tone and the style of the poems is very significant. In this study the poems of Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı which are suitable for children were first determined and later these poems were classified into groups with regards to their connection and similarity to tales and nursery rhymes genres. The poems of Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı that were defined to be beneficial for children in this study have a great importance for providing new sources to the child literature.
