The Seyfettin Özege Rare Works Collectıon Of Atatürk Unıversıty Lıbrary

Written works reflecting to one nation’s own culture, custom, way of science understanding, literature and taste of art are the prominent elements that constitute and perpetuate it’s own identity. One of the most important tasks of nations is to make these cultural heritages accessible and utilizable both in today and in future. Seyfettin Özege Collection made up of Turkish Works written in old letters in between 1728 and 1928 is one of this kind of heritage. These Works donated to Atatürk University Library are very important for both Turkey and states that were sphere of influence of Ottoman Empire. Main aim of this study is to give information about state of this Collection of which awareness and usability is very low. In addition to this, there are suggestions about what should be done to increase the usability of this Collection by both Turkish and foreign researchers.
