Folk Belief In Taliş


Talışlar is a folk that some part living in Azerbaijan is Shiite-Caferite and the other part living in Iran is Sunni-Hanefite. Their mother tongue is mostly Persian but their “common folklore language” is Turkish. In text, it is being told of folklore of Talışlar under the titles of birth, marriage, death, their social structure and comparisons with other Turkish cultured folklore. There is information about Giving names, offering, soothsaying, kismet, father, home, craving foods, aşure, tooth, hair, nail, first step and mourning.
