Information about Seyyid Mehmed Şemsi Efendi, who is one of the represantatives of religious and mystical Turkish literature, is quite insufficient. The poet died in 1812 in İstanbul and his Divan has three coppies, one of which is his own study of calligraphy. The poet practised both syllabic meter and prosody for his mystic poems in his limited work in terms of content.
