Bu çalışmamın amacı geç Osmanlı Devleti’nin Tanzimat ve Meşrutiyet dönemlerinde geçirdiği toplum, siyaset, kültür ve din alanlarındaki modernleşme ve sosyal değişim deneyimi açıklamayı ve böylece Cumhuriyet dönemi modernleşme sürecini anlamayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu çerçevede Türk modernleşme sürecinin karakteri ve dine bakışı, eğitim sisteminin sekülerleşmesi ve dönemin entellektüellerinin yenileşme ve yeniden örgütlenmeye bakışları açıklanmaya çalışılacaktır.
This paper aims to explain the late Ottoman experiences with modernisation and social changes in the fields of society, politics, culture and religion in Tanzimat and Meşrutiyet periods in order to understand the modernisation process of the Republik. In this context, it would be tried to analyse of the steps and character of Turkish modernisation movements, its approaches of religion, secularisation of educational system and the different wiev-points of the intelligentsia to renovation and reorganisation of the state and society.
