Yazılı ve sözlü edebiyat, bir milletin yaşayış biçimini ve dünya görüşünü yansıtır. Dolayısıyla o milletin dinî-itikadî anlayışını da ortaya çıkarır. Buradan hareketle sözlü edebî kültür ögelerinden olan atasözleri, milletlerin dünya görüşlerine ışık tutar. Bu sebeple çalışmamızda Müslümanlar arasında “Amentü” olarak bilinen iman esaslarının Türk atasözleri üzerindeki izleri takip edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Böylelikle Türklerin Allah, melekler, kitaplar, peygamberler, ahiret, kaza ve kader algısı ve anlayışı hakkında ipuçları elde edilebilir diye düşünülmüştür. Sonuçta Türk atasözlerinin arasında müslüman Türklerin dinî anlayışlarına büyük ölçüde tercüman olan atasözlerinin bulunduğu tespit edilmiştir.
Textuel and verbal literature reflect the life style and philosophy of life of that a nation. Therefore the religious beliefs and convictions of that nation is cleared up. Hence, Proverbs that are one of the cultural elements of the verbal literature, enlighten vision of the nations. For this reason, in this study the traces of the fundementals of the religious faith which are known as “Amentü” among the muslims are tried to be followed through the Turkish proverbs. In this way it is considered that clues can be obtained about the sensation and belief of Turkish people about, Allah (God, Lord), the angels, the holy books, prophets, nextworld adjudication, fate. Consequently, it appears that there have been proverbs which mostly articulate to the religious beliefs of the Muslim Turks among the Turkish proverbs.
