Türklerin İslam’ı kabul etmesi, hayatlarının birçok alanında olduğu gibi sanatlarında ve özellikle de edebiyatlarında –gerek şekil gerek içerik olarak- birçok yeniliği beraberinde getirmiştir. Bu yeniliklerden bir tanesi de din eksenli konuları ele alan birçok edebî türün ortaya çıkması olmuştur. Bu çalışmada Hz. Muhammed’i konu edinen edebî türlerden biri olan “hilye” türü üzerinde durulacak, bu türün Türk edebiyatındaki ilk örneği olan Şerîfî’nin hilyesi tanıtılacaktır. Hilye; Hz. Muhammed’in beşerî özelliklerini, belli bir disiplin içinde, sanat gayesini ön planda tutarak anlatan bir edebî türdür. After Turks had accepted İslam, they created many creations in their arts espeacally literature. One of these creation was the appearance of many literary genres which consider religion as a subject matter. This study looks at the genre of “hilye” which describes the physical characteristics of the Prophet Muhammed and introduce the Sherîfî’s hilye which is the first sample of this genre in Turkish literature. The Hilye is the literary genre that describes the physical characteristics of the Prophet Muhammed in a definite discipline which takes into consideration the importence of art. So this study also analyses the sources of this literary type, the development of it in Turkish literature and the relation between this literary genre and the descriptions of hilye. And also the life of this work’s writer, Seyyid Sherîfî Mehmed and his Diwan and Hilye is a part of this study.
