Üsküplü İshak Çelebi (1464-1537) was born in Üsküp where is one of the important cultural centres of the Ottoman Empire’s, in the second half of the 15th century. İshak Çelebi has started his education in Üsküp but it is unknown where he completed it. He has been lecturer in Üsküp, Serez, Edirne, Bursa and he has been kadı at Damascus. İshak Çelebi is one of the famous representatives of the Classical Turkish Poetry in 16th century. His works are: Divan, Selîm-nâme, Keşfü’z-zünûn, Terceme-i Şakâyık, Risâle-i İmtihâniyye. Classical Turkish poets, aesthetic rules goes on as tradition in Classical Turkish Literature, without its own style, generally use the same material. Before the study of different style formation, Classical Turkish Literature’s materials have to be comparatively studied and exposed. The purpose of the study is, determining the reflections of the classical arts in Üsküplü İshak Çelebi’s Divan and contributions to style comparisons related to this topic.
