Edebiyat tarihlerinde adına rastlanmayan Ali Zeki Bey, gazeteciliğinin ve mütercimliğinin yanında roman, tiyatro, hikâye ve şiir türlerinde eser vermiş bir sanatçıdır. Alev isimli romanı kendi devrinde eleştirmenlerin dikkatini çekmiş, eser hakkında yazılar yazılmıştır. Bu yazılardan Ahmet Haşim’e ait olanı, Alev romanının adı ve eserdeki bazı kelimelerin yazılışına yönelik eleştirileri içermekte, Nurullah Ata ise Ahmet Haşim’e cevap vermektedir. Bu çalışmada Abdulhak Şinasi’nin Dergâh Mecmuası’nda Ali Zeki Bey, eserleri ve ona yöneltilen eleştiriler noktasında bilgi veren yazısından hareketle Ali Zeki Bey tanıtılmaya çalışılmıştır.
Ali Zeki Bey, who has not seen in the history of literature, was an artist who wrote novels, poems and plays in addition to working as a journalist and translator. His novel, titled Alev, was given interest by his contemporary critics, and some reviews appeared on it. One of the reviews, belonged to Ahmet Haşim, included some critiques related to the novel’s title and the orthography of some words, and, on the other hand, Nurullah Ata responded him. In this study, it was aimed to introduce Ali Zeki Bey in the aspect of the review by Abdulhak Şinasi that gave information on Ali Zeki Bey’s works and the critiques on him in Dergah Mecmuası.
