Mikyâsu’l-Lisân Kıstâsu’l-Beyân, yazılış tarihi itibarıyla Müyessiretü’l-Ulûm’dan sonra yazılmış ikinci gramer kitabıdır. Eser, toplam 207 sayfadan meydana gelmektedir. Bu eser, bir mukaddime, beş maksat ve bir hatimeden ibarettir. Eserin en önemli özelliklerinden biri, orijinal terimlerin kullanılmasıdır. Yazarın kullandığı terimler, ne kendisinden önce yazılmış Müyessiretü’l-Ulum’daki ne de daha sonra yazılmış gramerlerdeki terimlere benzemektedir. Terimlerin orijinalliğinin yanı sıra örneklerin çokluğu da eserin önemli özelliklerinden biridir. Çoğu terimi isimlendirmekte örneklerden hareket edilmiştir. Terimlerin üretilmesinde işlevsellikleri göz önünde bulundurulmuştur.
