Till beginning of 18th century, Ottoman Empire was better than European in terms of external trade. After exploring new trade roads, Europeans foreign trade were improved and surpassed Ottoman foreign trade. Activities of European traders were increased significantly form beginning of 18ht century. Holland, England and some other colonial European countries like Austria, Russia and Central European countries increased their trade with Ottoman Empire. During the seventeen and eighteenth centuury in Europe the most important development in termes of aristocrats and non-noble people was to be more powerful in cities. Those developmenst changed the way of social and economical affairs. Those developments also caused for the emerge new economical institutions such as banks and other financial institutions. Mercantilist politics in Western countries influenced the Ottoman economy negatively. Also, Western countries increased their foreign trade in Ottoman Empire. This mercantilist politics influenced Galata Bankers, public and pirate finance areas. International agreements, between European countries and Ottoman Empire, favored European countries’ traders. Non Muslim citizens of Ottoman Empire were also tried to get more power. As a result of this negative developments, Ottoman Empire, had taken radical precautions. In this study, economical relations between European countries and Ottoman Empire will be studies.
