In this article Turkey’s tourism policy included between 1923- 1960. In order to put forward this policy, firstly the tourism movements mentioned last period of the Ottoman Empire. After this, the developments evaluated after the publication of the republic. In this period, the tourism politics meintoned that are included in the programs of governments that came to power. Also given tourism reports prepared by foreign experts and the laws guided by these reports. Indeed, since the late 1940’s, Turkey has gone to a serious structure in the field of tourism. Law on Encouragement of Tourism Organizations issued On 24 March 1950 and the Tourism Industry Encouragement Law enacted In 1953. Tourism Bank established in 1955 to finance tourism investments. During this period also benefited from foreign experts. In 1962, a tourism report prepared by foreign experts with the name of Tourism Transition Plan and this plan presented to the Turkish government. In line with this report, the Ministry of Tourism and Promotion established in 1963. With the establishment of this ministry tourism works become under the authority of a single ministry. This article created by scanning the sources of the Prime Ministry Republican Archive and Ankara National Library Archive. With this article, it is aimed to contribute to reach archive documents of other researchers who will work in the field of tourism history. The study aimed to set an example for the analysis of tourism which has an important place in our countrys economy by all disciplinary branches.
